Lovely wee cafe, went here with my mum for a bite to eat after some errands and got the Cajun chicken toastie with chips - was beautiful! And the guy serving us was very nice and helpful. Will be back :))

Always nice to discover a new place by chance. My friend and i were heading for breakfast at Wetherspoons Main St. Rutherglen but they were closed due to a water stoppage. At a bit of a loose end for options, a stranger recommended Niu Cafe in a side St off Main St. All the time i have lived in nearby Kings park and i never new this quaint little place existed. Seemingly, operating since 1999 this small cafe is run by a lovely chinese family. They have an extensive menu catering for all tastes and a special deal childrens 3 course meal. Breakfast is a complete joy, far better quality than Wetherspoons at a similar price. Every breakfast item you could wish for with tea, or coffee and toast included. Portions are huge. A very good deal indeed. Niu is situated on Greenbank St. A very short distance from Main St Rutherglen.A return visit is on the cards

Love coming here for breakfast. Always served by John, who is so friendly and attentive. My partner and I go for the jumbo breakfast (£6.50 with tea, coffee or can of juice) you just can’t get that anywhere else and certainly not of this quality, food is 10/10

Family business run by John. He always remembers his customers and what they order. John is polite and efficient. The menu is varied, (see attached photo from November 2023). The food quality is above average and varied. Prices are competitive. Premises seats about 30 people. It can get busy at lunchtime. However, you can phone and reserve a table. Toilets are always immaculate. There is parking outside. This premises is a hidden gem.

What an excellent local cafe. All day breakfasts and also healthy cooked foods! Tasty selection of cakes too! Great place for local people to meet and chat. August 2023: Excellent mixed seafood grill with noodles. Lovely! Dec 24 and we keep going back. And again in March 2025! Happy Easter 2925, John 😀

This is a wee gem, John who looked after us was just a genuine guy, curtious and professional oh and the food was 1st class, I highly recommend but he is really busy he has a lot of regulars. 👌
